Our restaurant and bakery, nestled at the foot of the Tehachapi mountains smack dab in the middle of the farmland of “The Big Red Barn” is known for old-fashioned comfort food, farm-fresh pies, fudge, and the world-famous Okie-Pie™.
Okie Pies™ are our signature. Savory or sweet, it’s the thing to eat. A classic homestyle pie crust gives an Old-fashioned Oklahoma twist to the Californian Empanada for something flakey, buttery, and delicious.

Okie pies™ come in sweet or savory options that change to match the season. You’ll find staples year-round like Pulled Pork marinated in blueberry barbeque sauce from our very own harvest. Definitely! While our savory options are the perfect lunch for those on the go, our sweet Okie Pies™ are glazed with delectable frosting and filled with fruit favorites like Peach, Cherry, and Apple - but that isn’t the end of it. During special occasions, and during just the right season, you’ll find unique and irresistible flavors for a limited time. The Pumpkin Okie-Pie™ is an undeniable favorite of October Fun Fest visitors, and lovebirds share Strawberry Cheese Cake Okie-Pies™ during orchard picnics surrounded by blooms.
Where do Okie Pies™ come from?
You won’t find an Okie Pie™ anywhere but right here at Murray Family Farms. Originally, the Okie pie™ made for an excellent grabbable meal to take on your way out to the orchard for a day on the farm, and in a lot of ways, it still is. Hundreds of families make it their meal of choice as they attend our events or go pickin’ out on the farm.

The food was AMAZING! We ended up having homemade Okie pies. Mine was blueberry pork and my husband had chicken. So delicious!

Each year, thousands make the trip up the 58 freeway to taste our harvest and the creations that come from the ovens and stovetops of our family’s kitchen. Inside our bakery, Giant snickerdoodle cookies and rich brownies frame a tradition of delivering nostalgic, traditional flavors complemented by brand-new experiences. an abundant variety of Fruit Pies with old fashion favorites like strawberry rhubarb alongside flavors of fudge as delicious as they are imaginative. Watermelon, Banana Split, Cherry Cordial, and even more highlight homestyle favorites like Peanut Butter, Walnut, and the original Cottage style chocolate.

Our favorites were the Chile Verde and the Chicken Okie pies. We made them combos and the Mac and Cheese was on point.
